Family info is displayed in a window showing all immediate relatives. You couple your looking at in specific will be slightly to the right and enlarged. The left person in that pair is who's family you're viewing, and the person to the right is the couple. If the heart in between them is red and not grayed, it indicated the two people are married. Branching out from the heart in the center are the children[1] of the married couple. To the left of the person is 2 other slots, these are siblings[1] which come branching out from another heart (which may also be grayed/no parents or siblings). When you have two people with a heart between them above the person, this indicates the person has a mother and father.
